假设说，图里（Figure 1）的扭蛋机有5个玩具其中一个是你喜欢的玩具，然后扭蛋机加多20个蛋子。你可以扭到你喜欢的玩具的概率会比较低了还是保持一样？

我们可以用Simple Probability的公式 formula：
$$P(event)=\frac{no.of(event)}{totalno.in(SampleSpace)}$$
之前的可能性是 1/5 ，而现在却降低到 1/25

P，代表Probability 可能性 / 概率
Event，是指事件
Sample Space / Probability Space，是一个情况里全部有可能的结果（possible outcomes）

那为什么是被称为Simple Probability？ 因为Simple在这里是指只有一样事件。

所以，Simple Probability是在计算一项event在设定的情况下发生的可能性。

这扭蛋机里有5个不同颜色的扭蛋玩具，2个红的，2个蓝的，和1个黄色的。

1. Which of the following represents the sample space，S， of the gashapon machine?
   以下哪个代表扭蛋机的sample space， S？

$$A.S=\{red,blue,yellow\}$$ $$B.S=\{red,red,blue,blue,yellow\}$$

扭蛋机虽然只有3种不同颜色的东西。。。
不过，看会Probability的公式，在提到Sample Space时，前面写了"total number"就是指总体的数量。所以Sample Space必须包括每件事件或东西的数量。

因此，答案是B。

2. What is the probability of getting a red coloured capsule toy from the gashapon machine?
   从扭蛋机中得到红色扭蛋的probability概率是多少？
   
   这个问题所要找的probability是红色扭蛋，也就是此题的event。
   用回之前的formula：

$$\begin{array}{rl}P(event)& =\frac{no.of(event)}{total\text{no}.in(SampleSpace)}\\ P(Red)& =\frac{no.ofredcapsuletoy}{no.ofgashaponSampleSpace}\\ & =\frac{2}{5}& \end{array}$$

formula里的event前面也写了"number of"，而题目提到扭蛋机里的红色扭蛋的数量是2个，所以答案才会是2/5。
